KC-10's to McGuire AFB

After four years of lovely Laughlin AFB and Del Rio Texas the time to move has finally come. Today D was told our next assignment is to McGuire AFB in Trenton, New Jersey. D will be flying the KC-1o.

Baby Girl Burp Cloths

Can you tell I found new trim?
I finished these last night while trying to stay awake till 3:00am. I needed to stay up so I would be able to stay awake threw my shift tonight. It might be a rough night because I only made it to 1:30am before I could hardly keep my eyes open anymore.

Brown Bag and Baby Shower

The First year we moved to Del Rio I was able to work in surgery with these two wonderful gals! They taught me all about the OR and the Recovery Room. But, after a year I left and went to Labor and Delivery. I hated to leave these two, but I needed a schedule that would allow me more flexibility and time to visit family. We have only been saying for the last three years that we need to get together and have lunch, well we finally did and to my surprise they threw a baby shower too. What fun we had! Lunch at the Brown Bag and gifts for baby Mac!
Here is a picture of what all this little one received at the latest shower! He got his very first Texas book, so he will always know he is a Texan by birth!
We again have been so blessed with friends in Del Rio and it will be sad to see this season of our life's coming to an end, but we are eagerly awaiting the next season.

Burp Cloths

I was able to finish these the other day. I am still working on some little girls ones, hopefully I'll get those done tonight.

Weekend Family Fun

Why Stop?

Because Amy bought a book that tells you were all the historical marker in Texas are located. In all actuality, it got to be a pretty fun and a fairly interesting game, well at least for me and Amy. I think Gran-T and D had checked out after the first 15 pictures! I learned more about Del Rio in two days with Amy and Gran-T than I have in the last 4 years! This is the courthouse in Bracketville.

Then we when to Fort Clark Springs in Bracketville.
www.FortClark.comAmy and I both liked this cowboy picture. Some of the items on display at this museumUncle Marvin checking out the panoramic photos. This is Dick W McConnell, I thought maybe this is who our street in named after. Probably not, since he is Army and we are Air Force, but it is a nice thought.

We also went to visit Seminole Canyon in Comstock.
I think this is a picture of pictographs, but I honestly couldn't see anything either.

Then, we went to the Alamo Village....which was closed due the a death in the family. We did however document that we were there with these great belly shots.

35 1/2 weeks pregnant!

The whole family, not going to the Alamo Village!
On the last day the family was in town we took off early to visit the Whitehead Memorial Museum.
The Cadena family has donated this nativity. I thought this was only open during the Christmas season, but it is actually on display year round. And, It was the only building with Air conditioning. Amy and I loved the fact that this was really a compilation of several Nativity's from several different eras.
This was my favorite scene from the display. I guess the mama sheep is watching her baby lamb roast. So sad but so funny!

The Brinkley estate is a very usual and interesting factoid of Del Rio.

The Chapel was part of the Whitehead memorial and honestly I am not sure why. But, nonetheless it was interesting and pretty cool inside due to the stone walls.

Gotta stop and pose with another Historical Marker. This is of the Canal System of Del Rio. It was built to help water the grapevines at the Val Verde Winery. Which also happens to be the oldest Winery in all of Texas. We also visited the winery, but I didn't take any pictures.

This is the first Val Verde Regional Hospital were I now work.

A with the mannequin at the Whitehead's home. The most significant thing I could figure out is that this was the only mercantile between San Antonio and El Paso for several years. The Whiteheads ran the mercantile downstairs and had their living quarters upstairs.

Beth-a-lou

Beth and I thought these pictures were too funny! This one was taken at the Old Navy display.
Eating snacks at the Outlet malls.

Beth at Fairfeild Commons, Mom and I gave her quarters so she could play on the rides.

Baby Mac's Room

It is finished.

..well for the time being...
This is the view from the doorway. There is a lot going on in here, but since we don't think we will be here much longer we thought we'd let the baby share his room for now. However, D said, "No one is going to want to sleep in here with the baby." I agreed and laughed, then explained that is why we have the bassinet in our room too. The changing table was a side table that Gran-T gave us. I took off the mirror because it was a little too wobbly for my comfort. Grandma Shirley found the sheep and I repainted them. Not too much room between the baby bed and the queen size bed, but maybe that will be good motivation to lose the baby weight! haha
Guest bed, We are set for visitors anytime! We had a rug in here but the other day one of the dogs (I am thinking Charlie) had an accident and pooped on it. I don't know if he was trying to send me a message about how he feel about the baby, or if he was just sick. Either way, I rolled up that nasty stinky rug and put it in the trash can. I can't help but think come trash day some thrifty soul, like myself, will attempt to pull out that perfectly good rug only to find puppy diarrhea all over it!

More showers gift..lucky baby!

We have been so overwhelmed by the huge outpouring of love and joy over this little baby boy! Almost everyday someone seems to send me a baby gift. Here are a few of the latest arrivals.
Yesterday the baby Eden bassinet arrived in the mail. It has been a roller coaster trying to find this now discontinued/back ordered item. But, thanks to Rachelle and her diligence she persevered and found the last one on earth in Michigan! I was so delighted when she called and said the store was willing to sale it to her and she was able to ship in to Texas!!!

Isn't just the sweetest thing you've ever seen! The Bassinet detaches from the stand and you can move it about the house. Then as the kiddo gets older the stand converts into a child's vibrating seat.

The nurse anesthetic that I work with gave this outfit and booties to me the other day. We call her Duckie, long story not her birth name, so this was a very appropriate outfit. She knitted the webbed duck feet booties! And, yes I do have both booties, only one is pictured ;-) The band name is EIEIO by Mud Pie, I think they make the cutest clothes.
Another unexpected surprise! It's this blankets so sweet! I wish you could feel how soft and plush it is! My cousin Lori from Cincinnati knitted this for our baby boy. She has two boys of her own and I bet they helped pick out the little puppy!
