Housing at Mcguire

We were under the impression that where MIGHT be base housing for us when we arrived to McGuire AFB. I don't know if it was wishful thinking or if we were slightly mislead. But, either way we do not have a house and we probably will not get one until May. The United Communities lady actually told us they have not even started to build the houses we qualify for. (you ever end a sentence with a preposition and you know you should but you do anyways??)We were warned that this might be the case, we were just hoping that something would be available. Actually, something did become available but it was a Junior enlisted house. We chose to turn it down and instead wait until officer housing was ready. In the mean time, we are staying in a fully furnished extended stay. The housing office has taken several quadplexes and offered them to the people who choose to wait for houses. They cost the same as BAH but the commute is all of 5 minutes! We looked at buying or renting a house but for the quality of housing, safety of the community and length of commute....it just didn't make sense for us. So, for another 3-5 years we are happy to be living on base!

Happy pumpkin harvest!

Beth putting on a smile for the camera!
Wyatt trying to smile for the camera too!
After the first photo shoot Beth needed to swing.

We tried a second time with a different pumpkin outfit, but the pictures didn't come out very good.

My favorite! She is trying to get Wyatt to look at the camera. Wyatt is not happy about his current situation.

She was trying to hold him up, but kept laughing and saying, "He's too heavy!"

The end! As you can see both of my models were done.
