Boys

A little story

This occurred several days ago, but i wanted to share it with you! I'll have to say, I never really got upset at the situation. I wouldn't do anything differently. I love my boys dearly and I think this is just how life will be the next few years. Hope you get a laugh.

Last night I got four hours sleep. I wanted to take a nap today, but the kids ended up not napping at the same time. So, once Wyatt woke up I decided to go to Target. I needed to get out of the house. Enjoy some retail therapy and get a frappé from McDonalds. Also, I figured at least Dustin would sleep in the car. Except, I didn't count on Wyatt yelling "wake up Dustin" the whole way to target. I was so frustrated with him! Dustin indeed woke up and cried the whole way to Target. I told Wyatt if he didn't use a quiet voice then he'd get boomed. (boomed=whipped) Well, he just got louder! Yelling at Dustin and being so silly about it. Even laughing after yelling at Dustin to wake up and yelling "no Wyatt, no yelling". It was
ridiculous. But I told him he'd get boomed so I had to follow through! Breaks my heart but once at Target I got him out of his car seat, reminded why he was getting boomed and whipped his little butt (just one pop). He momentarily whimpered then I hugged and kisses that crazy kid.

At Target Dustin finally fell back asleep but Wyatt wouldn't sit his but down in the cart. Where else was I going to put him. He cant walk beside the cart yet and the didn't jaw double kid carts at Target. He was yelling and crying saying, " no mommy no mommy!!!" After several warnings, informing him he had to sit down or he was going to get a boom. I boomed him again right in the middle of the aisle. He finally sat down but still crying uncontrollably as I head to the check out. With all the commotion, Dustin wakes up and starts crying too. I feel like a full freight train of ridiculously loud crying.

At the cash register. Wyatt stops crying to help unload the groceries. He is such a good little helper.

Then on the way home they take turns loosing it! Dustin is crying because he hasn't slept in five hours and Wyatt is crying because he dropped his paci and kept telling me to take my seat buckle off to get it!

I told him I wasn't going to take my seat buckle off. He promptly replied with "daddy get it" haha

Then when we were almost home he realized he didn't get a pretzel that I had told him we'd get. I felt so bad but, I honestly forgot! He lost it again! "Ahhh where'd my pretzel??"

But still got stuff I needed and glad I went :) silly Boys!!

Oh yes people were staring and some sweet lady loaded my groceries while I put the kids in the car! Bless her heart!!!

In hindsight, Wyatt must not have taken a nap, and Dustin had a dirty diaper during the car ride home. My poor boys were just not having a good day. I am sure better days will come. :)

2 weeks

I regret not ever getting professional newborn pictures of Wyatt taken. So, I asked my very talented neighbor and professional photographer Christina Watkins to take pictures of Dustin. I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome! Hope you like them too :)

Story

One day when I was 39 weeks pregnant I ran into another preggo Mom at the pool. We were both chasing our two year olds around and struck up a conversation do to our like figures. She had a much larger belly than I did. But, I was also much taller. I asked her when she was due. Our conversation went like this:
Me: When are you due?
Her: Middle of Oct, but they'll probably induce me early, when are you due?
Me: oh next week
Her: What?!? you are so tiny!
Me: yeah, the doctors don't know what's wrong with him...

Then I promptly left, I didn't want her to feel bad for having a bigger belly. And I felt guilty that I lied! I am such a big fat lier! As if I was having a dwarf baby or something! Well we didn't have a un-normally small baby. He was a healthy 8 lbs 3.7 oz!

Dustin Eldon is here!

Dustin Eldon
8 lbs 3.7 oz
20.4 inches long
Apgars 7,9

We left NJ when Irene was on her way. I was trying to be ad realistic as possible and concluded at the very least NJ would have power outages. I really didn't want to deliver in a hospital that was running off generators and with probably several staff members unable to get to work. So, off we drove to Ohio!

We left on Friday. With plans to return to NJ once power was restored. I packed what I thought I might need in case I was to have a baby. But, figured we'd make it back before the baby was born.

Sunday, I was having a few contractions that started about 9:00 am. I walked around the barn yard and pulled Wyatt in a wagon while I timed the contractions. They weren't painful but I was contracting about every 6-7 mins. So, we got ready to go to church. Once at church everyone wanted to know if I thought I'd have the baby today? I told them "who knows?" I wasn't about to fess up that my contractions were now 5 mins apart through Pastor Tims sermon. Still though, not painful at all!

We left there and got amazing cassanos pizza!! I ate as much as I thought I safely could! It was so good!!! But, by 2:00 I had to tell D I thought we should go to the hospital. We drove over to Wright Patt and I walked around the outside of the hospital until the contractions got strong enough to slow my walking and talking. I had D time the contractions and told him to let me know when they were every three minutes. Later, he admitted to fibbing the timing of the contraction which he said were every 3-4 min were really every 2-3 mins. Yes, that job has been revoked from him! So, we go in get hooked up to the monitors. Baby looks good :) After, about 20 mins they finally checked me. I should have made them check me early! 6cm, 90%, -1 station. They move me to the delivery room and start the admission paperwork. Guess what they didn't have time finish?!? Oh pretty much everything. They managed to call the residents, set up the table, start my IV and draw labs. Then, there was no turning back! My water broke, three contractions later the baby was crowing! Haha Everyone really started to move fast! So, all in all the baby was born in about 50 mins from the time I walked in the door! Whew, glad it was over, but really meant to give them more time.

Irene knocked out power for 3 days, no other real damage. We traveled back to NJ once Dustin was 6 days old.

Wyatt is a great big brother!
