A little story

This occurred several days ago, but i wanted to share it with you! I'll have to say, I never really got upset at the situation. I wouldn't do anything differently. I love my boys dearly and I think this is just how life will be the next few years. Hope you get a laugh.

Last night I got four hours sleep. I wanted to take a nap today, but the kids ended up not napping at the same time. So, once Wyatt woke up I decided to go to Target. I needed to get out of the house. Enjoy some retail therapy and get a frappé from McDonalds. Also, I figured at least Dustin would sleep in the car. Except, I didn't count on Wyatt yelling "wake up Dustin" the whole way to target. I was so frustrated with him! Dustin indeed woke up and cried the whole way to Target. I told Wyatt if he didn't use a quiet voice then he'd get boomed. (boomed=whipped) Well, he just got louder! Yelling at Dustin and being so silly about it. Even laughing after yelling at Dustin to wake up and yelling "no Wyatt, no yelling". It was
ridiculous. But I told him he'd get boomed so I had to follow through! Breaks my heart but once at Target I got him out of his car seat, reminded why he was getting boomed and whipped his little butt (just one pop). He momentarily whimpered then I hugged and kisses that crazy kid.

At Target Dustin finally fell back asleep but Wyatt wouldn't sit his but down in the cart. Where else was I going to put him. He cant walk beside the cart yet and the didn't jaw double kid carts at Target. He was yelling and crying saying, " no mommy no mommy!!!" After several warnings, informing him he had to sit down or he was going to get a boom. I boomed him again right in the middle of the aisle. He finally sat down but still crying uncontrollably as I head to the check out. With all the commotion, Dustin wakes up and starts crying too. I feel like a full freight train of ridiculously loud crying.

At the cash register. Wyatt stops crying to help unload the groceries. He is such a good little helper.

Then on the way home they take turns loosing it! Dustin is crying because he hasn't slept in five hours and Wyatt is crying because he dropped his paci and kept telling me to take my seat buckle off to get it!

I told him I wasn't going to take my seat buckle off. He promptly replied with "daddy get it" haha

Then when we were almost home he realized he didn't get a pretzel that I had told him we'd get. I felt so bad but, I honestly forgot! He lost it again! "Ahhh where'd my pretzel??"

But still got stuff I needed and glad I went :) silly Boys!!

Oh yes people were staring and some sweet lady loaded my groceries while I put the kids in the car! Bless her heart!!!

In hindsight, Wyatt must not have taken a nap, and Dustin had a dirty diaper during the car ride home. My poor boys were just not having a good day. I am sure better days will come. :)

I can totally relate and I only have 1 kiddo! We've been there...in Target, little boy having tantrums, yelling, wanting to get away from you in the store, etc... People either look at you with pity or like, 'my child would NEVER be allowed to act like that'! : ) Glad you made it through and actually came away with everything you needed. Usually when stuff like that happens to me I end up forgetting things!

Leigh Ann, I can picture this completely. T does this as if he knows it is a crowded place where he is going to get a reaction. Testing, testing, testing. And, now when I see moms going through this out and about, I try to give them a knowing smile like, "we are all in this together, my friend." You are such a good mama!
