Sprinklers

I had been wanting to take W to the Green and let him play in the sprinklers. GranT and Grandma Shirley both got off work early on Tuesday so I thought that would be a good day to go. We met at Cheesecake factory had a quick snack then we let W play.

It took a little bit of time to warm up to the whole sprinkler idea. When we first arrive several other kids were there and W was a little stand offish. Once a few kids left, I showed him how to stomp in the puddles. Once he figured out puddle stomping it was on! He began running around and looking directly down on the sprinklers. GranT desperately tried to teach him not to look at the sprinklers but to cover them with his foot. The problem was then he was looking down at them and trying to cover the sprinklers with his foot at the same time. He got sprayed in the face several times. He rubbed his eyes, but he never cried.

He did "pop" another little girl that we did not know at the sprinklers today too!! She was bending over and I saw him hit her hinny! I thought it was on purpose, but wasn't sure till I heard him say, "pop" and walk away proudly! I reenforced that we do not pop our friends. He then proceeded to walk about the sprinklers popping himself and saying "no, pop!". Goodness people are going to think I beat this child!
