First Birthday

Our little boy has now turned one year old. One of his favorite things to do is play in water. He loves washing his hands, taking and bath and especially the pool! I thought it was only appropriate with an August birthday to have a pool party for him. The theme sharks and minnows. The cupcake did turn out a little scary for a first birthday, but trust me Wyatt did not seem to notice the sharks fierce look teeth and beady little eyes. All my little boy saw was frosting.
Shark cupcakes from the "Hello cupcake" book
Candy molds from Wilton. These took several days to complete and I was afraid I didn't have enough for all the kids. What I forgot to consider: chocolate melts in 90 degree weather. No one ate them! I ended up leaving them for the life guards. Who were grateful.
My favorite picture. Just look at that icing dripping off his face! This little boy melts my heart. I couldn't resist kissing his sweet little cheek and left lipstick as evidence. Oops!! Sorry little man.

11 Months

Now that Wyatt is 11 months old he is getting more vocal. One of his favorite words is "Brrrroomm, brroomm" he also loves wheels! So, I knew he would love being able to sit on this tractor and "fix" the wheels with his handy dandy wrench.

The 2nd (squadron) hosted a spouse incentive flight. It was a great opportunity to see first hand what our husbands do all day! It was a wonderful experience and I hope you gets to watch the video.
In the belly of the KC-10
Wyatt is now ten months old. Our little man is really growing up.
We was much more interesting in the airplanes overhead than in the amazing photoshoot.

We are back...but with some obvious difficulties. We not only have moved into a new house (pictures coming soon) but we also have a new computer! I still am trying to learn the new computer and I am having some problems. Like way can i rotate the picture when viewing them, but once uploaded to the blog they revert back and I can't find any options to rotate on the blog...SIGH Oh well. At least this is a start.

A few pictures from Easter. Sorry I am blurry I was probably moving.
We also went to see Aunt Bess and Uncle Roy. Wyatt had so much fun and Roy tried to talk him into being a Baylor Bear.

We took the scenic route home and went across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. It was a very brave experience for the gal that isn't crazy about tunnels.

Wyatt 7 Months

Well we have a growing boy these days! He is full of laughter as he studies the new world around him. This photo shoot was by far the most challenging. As you can see I even gave up trying to get a shot with the "7 Months" sign. It was getting distorted and I thought he probably shouldn't consume the printer ink. I also thought Gran-T would especially like some of these more serious poses.

Yuck!

Can you see my two front teeth?

The Bloggers I love

I have recently been loving to read other bloggers blogs. I like to get a glimpse into other peoples life (is that bad?) invite myself into their homes and world. Here are my two favorite lady bloggers.

My new favorite is The pioneer woman. www.thepioneerwoman.com I found her when two of my girl friends had her linked to their blogs. I don't think they actually know her but we can all pretend we do.

My older favorite is the Nester. www.thenester.com She used to be more down to earth with great tips for free. But, now she charges for consulting. Boo!! She also makes great unnecessary but totally necessary tassels.

How you find the time to check out both these gals and get inspired. I know that I now long to live on a ranch and decorate with my rustic Texas furniture!

McGuire Base Houseing

We are still living on base in temporary housing, which is fine and we plan to be here till March. However, we are starting to really long for our "stuff" and a house we can call our own. It is getting exciting watching the new houses being built.

If we were to ever buy in New Jersey we like two neighborhoods that are close to base. The first area is in Columbus, NJ called Mapleton off route 68. Really nice newer homes that are 12 minutes from base.

The second area is in Westampton, NJ off Smithville Road about 15 minutes for base. A little older homes that are in a quite family neighborhood.
If you are moving to this area anything soon. You should zillow these two neighborhood. Another fabulous neighborhood is Bobbys Run in Lumberton. Pemberton doesn't have the best reputation but they are building new homes in an area called the Preserve at Rancocas Creek.
That's all I got for now. I'll try and post more pictures as the base housing gets closer to being finished.
